Art Gallery The Second Trip

On Wednesday October 29 we went to the Art Gallery for our second tour on War Brides. The artist was Bev Tosh who was born in New Zealand. She had three large portraits of her mother, Terrie, and some weeping person who wrote a poem. She had one parachute ark works hung up in the middle of the room and one on the wall. There were about three walls that and pieces of ply wood with war brides on them. After the tour we went to the hands on room to do a self portrait. All and all, it was fun.

Dance

My class had a dance session with a dance teacher from Toronto. We did a break cicrcle were you go into the middle of the cicrcle and do a move or to. I TRYED do spin but I barely got of the ground. It was still a lot of fun.

Music

We had a class on how you can make music with about anything. I made mostly percussion instruments. I had a load of fun and we got to play along with the accordian.

Ukuleles

In Arts education we are learning how to play the ukuleles. So far I can play A Bad Moon Arising. I am hoping it will help me play the violin since it has the same strings.

Me and My Skeleton

My class was making skeletons out of milk jugs for health. I finished mine on Oct.6. The school is going to hang them up in the gym for the Halloween dance.

Thanksgiving Dinner

On Oct.10 my school held a thanksgiving dinner. The grade eights were the chefs who wipped up a good turkey dinner. I ate with my parents around 12:20.

School Election

On Oct.14 I went out to cast my vote for the election. In our election the Conservatives won and the runner up was the NDP. In the real election the Conservatives became the head of a minority government.

Papier Mache

When the grade 6s went on there bike trip all the grade 5s went down to the music room to make masks out of papier mache. We spent the afternoon gluing and pasting. We are yet to paint the masks.

Terry Fox Run

On Sept.22 we went on a Terry Fox run. I did the long walk and

chatted the way around the short oval walk. I managed to chug about 20 cups of water.
