Curling

On every Wednesday we have a curling meet for our school. Me and Brendin have moved to the head of the class by becoming "naturals". We've stared to make a team for an up coming bonspeil. So far we've got me as either skip or third and same with Brendin. Bowman is playing 2nd. But were missing a player for our team, we still need a lead. If you want to join just leave a comment. We can't take everybody in for the team. But you have to go to Lindale School in Moose Jaw and you have to some experience.

We made leaf pictures for art by tracing real leaves and then drawing in small stems. Once you were done that you had to draw in little circles. It took awhile but they look really good when there done.

Bullying programs

Today we had an assembly about bullying and how to cope with it in the morning. In the afternoon we had another program with a police officer on how bullying hurts and all the different things you can do to prevent bullying. He told us about the three different forms of bullying.

  • Verbal, which is like swearing, calling somebody names, and saying that they suck, or something like that.

  • Social, this category is about spreading rumors, and excluding people from different groups.

  • Physical, this includes: hitting, kicking, tackling, and other physical roughness.

It was a good learning experience.

Career Workshop

On November 5 we had a work shop on picking careers. The teacher showed us a site that you go to for a test on what careers are best for us. She said that you don't have to pick your career right away. They had a thing called "Career-O-Matic" that was supposed to choose your career but of course, it doesn't work. I got some pretty crazy things like a limo driver for chickens. It was a great educational program.

On November 7th we had our remembrance day service. At the start, the choir sang a song about wishes. It was fallowed by a presentation from a veteran and more songs. My friend from the bus played the violin and our teacher played the trombone. There were two kids in front of me that were very rude. It was a great and respectful service.

Arthur Slade

On November 4th the Saskatchewan born author, Arthur Slade, gave a presentation about his many different novels. The reason why we were all wearing tin foil hats was because of how in his book titled "Jolted" the kid had to wear a tin foil hat through elementary school so he didn't get hit by lighting. His favorite book and most successful book was the Saskatchewan based book called "Dust". He tried to trick us with the book "Monsterology" by saying that his friend and illustrator was eating by Dracula, but his downfall was that he wrote fiction novels.

Halloween Dance

On October 31st we had a Halloween dance for grades 5-8. There were about four different events, snowball, free style, sit down, and lead dances. We had our skeletons hung up on the basket ball net with glow sticks in there heads and ribs. I had a lot of fun at the dance.I couldn't wait until trick or treating.

Red Sky Theatre

On October 30th a play called How Raven Stole The Sun in or gym. There were three actors. It was a story about a trickster raven who turned in to a pine needle so that the girl would drink him and he could get into the house and open the boxes that had the moon the stars and the sun. they had a whole bunch of tricks so that it would look really good. I really enjoyed the play and we got to miss math.
